Zombies converted to drowned no longer drop gold, shells, rotten flesh, and tridents

Zombies that have been converted to drowned through a water column no longer drop tridents, gold ingots, rotten flesh, or nautilus shells. I began to notice this after I updated my bedrock dedicated server to Minecraft version 1.10. When using my drowned farm that drops zombies into water columns to convert them for farming gold, tridents, and xp that they didn't drop anything but the armor they had on.

I thought it might have been a fluke so I continued to farm the converted drowned until I had harvested around 1000 and there were still no drops other than the armor.

After this I went to a creative world I use to test ideas out and I spawned 200 zombies into a water filled room for conversion and then farmed them. Again, there was no gold ingots, rotten flesh, tridents, or shells.

Next, I spawned 200 drowned with a spawn egg and then farmed them. To my surprise they dropped all of the regular drops for a drowned. It seems like the problem is only effecting zombies that are being converted to drowned, and not drowned that might spawn naturally in an ocean or river.

I would really appreciate it if this was fixed. I use my drowned farm for multiple different reasons and resources and I have put a lot of time into it.

I may be mistaken, but this might be intended. In the Java edition (I know, they're two completely separate versions) only naturally-spawning Drowned will drop items.

I read that in Java edition that is the case, however in bedrock edition both naturally occurring and converted drowned will have the same drops. I read this on the minecraft wiki, and it had always worked for me. I have a farm setup that funnels zombies from a dungeon spawner and into a water filled column for conversion to drowned with hoppers as the floor to collect all of the loot.

For the past several months I have been able to farm gold ingots, tridents, and shells easily using this method. It was not until the bedrock 1.10 update that they quit dropping the listed items. I also re-read the change log and I never found anything related to changes for converted drowned drops. I could be missing something, although I know for the past several months it has worked fine.

Hi Ryan,

I dont believe this is still the case, there are a number of zombie spawner converting farms that wouldnt work if this was still in place so I'm going to ask a mod to close this issue.

If you think this is in error please comment back as I will be checking in on the ticket.
