Screen is glitching and flashing randomly

When playing minecraft I find the screen doing a weird sort of streaking across the screen at random times. It is rather distracting and annoying. I have tried giving minecraft more ram (up to 5gb) and tried changing the video settings and screen resolutions. I cannot figure out how to fix it and I need some help. Ive attached some images of what im experiencing.
