Fullscreening window on second monitor moves window to main monitor

When I have a windowed version of Minecraft on the second monitor, and full screen it, Minecraft moves to the main monitor. When I exit full screen, the window stays on the main monitor.

The expected behaviour would be the full screen would happen on the same monitor as the window was.

This is a java (or OpenGL) thing I think.
I think this is caused by Minecraft thinking when on full screen that its needs to be there because to the computer your main monitor is screen 1.

Note: Why play Minecraft on your second monitor?

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.10.2, or 16w43a) of Minecraft? If so, please update the affected versions and help us keeping this ticket updated from time to time. If you are the owner/reporter of this ticket, you can modify the affected version(s) yourself.

This is still an issue in version 1.12 on GNOME 3.

As well the the reported behavior, the window reacts strangely when attempting to move it to the second monitor using keybinds. As well as that, pressing super to open the current activities causes the window to disappear but still receive mouse events. The only way to regain mouse control is to use alt-tab and un-fullscreen Minecraft.

Tested on Antergos, GNOME 3.24, OpenJDK 8u131-1

Still happened in 1.12.2.  Tested in 1.13.2; the full screen now seems to apply to the current monitor, but the Minecraft window does not scale to the correct monitor size.  (The Minecraft screen is bigger than the monitor area, so about 1/3 is off-screen on two edges.)

After I changed my screen resolution on the second monitor to its native resolution, the scaling issue I mentioned in the last post is not happening anymore.

In any case, the primary bug here appears to be resolved - full screen now (1.13.2) stays on the monitor where it's enabled.  But the Minecraft launcher still always defaults to opening the client window on the primary monitor.  I think that's a separate issue, though.

still happens on 1.18. always fullscreens onto the last monitor on the gpu. doesnt listen to primary display. on Arch btw
