Some blocks are tracked in statistics/objectives for similar blocks despite having their own space to be tracked. For example, if you break a Jack o'Lantern, stat.mineBlock.lit_pumpkin will stay empty and stat.mineBlock.pumpkin will increase instead.

further research on the matter.

if I go back to 1.8 I STILL cannot place grass blocks. and have them count.

however if I do ID.. stat.useitem.3

it counts not only grass, but dirt, coarse dirt and podzol as well which should be registering only with
the stat.useitem.2 ID ?

or am I wrong? Not really sure why, I thought I was using this command in version 1.8.8
but, apperntly its been glitching since version 1.8 atleast.

F3 and possibly forced crashes (F3+C for 10 seconds) show the Java version, if you wish to perfect your 'environment' even further.

Apparently this issue has been fixed in some 1.13 snapshot.
