[MC-1052] fullscreen is crashing minecraft and it wont turn off when i leave

What I expected to happen was the game would go fullscreen
Describe what you thought should happen here

*What actually happened was minecraft turned black, i could still move and click, but couldn't see

Steps to Reproduce:
1. turn minecraft visual options on
2. click fullscreen
3. minecraft turns black.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
