Once you till dirt, the light level goes to 0.

Basically whenever I try to farm, i cant, and the seeds get destroyed. I put light right next to my crops, but they just break. This is because the light level of tilled dirt is 0. I dont know how to change this, because putting torches next to the dirt wont fix it. All the dirt is properly hydrated.

I just want to farm! I read MC-46667 but I still cant find the solution!

The light level of the tilled dirt being 0 is irrelevant- the crops grow based on the light level on the block above.

A man, then why do my crops keep breaking?

Make sure you have:

  1. water at the hight of the farmland close by.

  2. a high enough ligh level above the farmland block.

The light level in farmland is 0 as there's no light inside blocks that don't emit it.
