Crash

When i was on my macbook air i was playing minecraft and when i went into my ingame menu i pressed save and quit to title and then the game hung and the game screen became black. this happened yesterday and the game is still hanging. i tried to x out but it didnt go away and i pressed quit in the dock and it didnt go away. i can launch a new game though
