Items/XpOrbs on Ice and in Flowing Water Travel way Faster than the Water

Water flows at a rate of X. If the water is on top of ice, items (or xp orbs) will travel quite faster than X.

One would expect the item to travel no faster than the water, but it ends up going several times faster. (The two screenshots are meant to show this, though if it's possible for someone to submit a .gif or something of the sort that would be much appreciated)

To reproduce:
1. Lay down several ice blocks in a row
2. Surround the air blocks on top with any water-stopping block
3. Place water at one end of the ice
4. Drop item on the water source

This setup should show that the item flows faster than it should.

So the items are supposed to travel several times faster than the water...
I suppose this is helpful for bowling lanes, somehow.

Could you check my other bug, https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-101376?

I've had it open for 110 days now, and not a single helper/mojangster/moderator/whatevertitlesareoutthere has achknowleged it (unless a helper/whatever has watched it without commenting).

I suppose as a(n active) helper you search bugs a lot, yet I'm adding another task to your queue. Well, that's me, SLScool, the guy who believes the username can't be the one publicly displayed, but only the full name.

Go to your profile, hit the pencil next to Details, and change the "Full Name" field to what you like. I'll look at the other bug now.

How does that happen?!
His second bug (first was due to him not noticing bobbing was off in visual settings), which is about elytra not updating until F5, has been open for 110 days now, and this one was solved in 5 minutes. THIS IS ABOUT 31.6 THOUSAND TIMES FASTER!

The old ticket must have been lost in ticket reports or the mods/helpers simply did not understand it.

Hobbit2469, it is 31,680.

Actually, if you count the very minute MC-101376 (which I would if I knew the time zone), it's likely something like 31,681.23456...

Yeah, it could either be ticket thing, confusion (which I believe I have just now somewhat fixed), or the possible reason for being invalid (that I just now added).
