The title says it all. In creative mode, if you remove a book&quill from an item frame, the book&quill vanishes. It does not go into hotbar or inventory. I lost coordinates to biomes I found in my survival server. I rarely go into creative mode. Other items might vanish too, but I only tried the book&quill.

This is intended for creative, the item doesn't drop, you remove the item.
In order to get the item, use pick block.
