When you have a block of farmland, and place a sapling on it, and try to use bonemeal on the sapling, the tree will not grow at all.
I held the right mouse click button down for a good twenty seconds until I figured it was a bug. I tested it on all 4 saplings. All have the same result.

Currently saplings aren't even supposed to be able to be planted on farmland, but what I assume is happening is that the game is rendering it as a dirt entity and is allowing it to be placed, yet at the same time is still rendering it as farmland, not letting it to mature. This will probably be fixed soon

I was using this "bug" as a feature for decoration and landscaping. I would like to know how I could reopen this and request mojang to reverse it for those of us that like to use it for aesthetic purposes. I'm a bit late to the party because I just updated to 1.8 and only just learned about this site. I would also like to know what about this "bug" such a problem.
