What I expected to happen was...:
It will go same as previews versions
What actually happened was...:
it will crash the game
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the menu of a furnace
2. Put coal in the fuel box
3. It wiil do the same in some fuel items

This has been fixed in the 16w39b. Also, this is a duplicate of MC-107392.
I think i will do the same in Minecraft 16w39b
