When an observer block reads a block update caused by a comparator output, the signal emitted is longer than a single tick pulse
Attached to the issue report is a zip file (
[media]) with a world download to simulate it.
Notice how every other kind of block update emits a single pulse (allowing the piston to break and translocate the shulker box) while comparators ones emit a slightly longer pulse that doesn't allow translocation

It already has it. If you click the comparator switching it to subtract mode, the signal is not enough to pass, so you can place the shulker chest and then emit a signal through the button on the green clay, that's one of the many other types of input.
Through the button, the puls is one tick.
Through the comparator, one and a pinch
