Cannot Command+Tab in fullscreen mode

Running Mac OS X 10.10.5 and for whatever reason whenever I turn fullscreen on, I can't command+tab out of it. An alternative is, when the launcher launches the game in the square, press the green fullscreen button. However, it's still annoying to have to do that every time, and it'd be great if you could resolve this bug.
