Do you still experience this issue on fresh install? (minecraft-launcher package)

I don't see the issue with the bundled java on my arch setup

Officially provided aur package is actually a bootstrap for a launcher - it still has to download the newest version of all the files required for the launcher, including the bundled java

It could be the case that provided files got updated within the last few days though, in which case the issue should be resolved for you already (without the need to update anything in AUR)

there should be no difference. Make sure you put the sugar cane on allowed blocks (dirt, grass, sand)

In MC-147516 he also says that it could be caused by different issue, and MC-2310's root cause is told to be the set radius (and not accounting for the blocks), which is irrelevant to this issue
