The latest version of the game crashes instantly in Manjaro Linux. It does not generate a log, as my latest.log contains mentions of optifine, which was my 1.16.4 installation, which still starts fine. Will attach screenshot of the error. (Tried under bundled java and openjdk 11.)

Thanks for the help, Urielsalis. I have found the issue. The AUR version of Minecraft ships with an outdated java version bundled. The problem can be solved by putting the newest launcher on the AUR.
violine1101, as I said in the report, no log was generated, so it would be quite hard to include.
I don't see the issue with the bundled java on my arch setup
Officially provided aur package is actually a bootstrap for a launcher - it still has to download the newest version of all the files required for the launcher, including the bundled java
It could be the case that provided files got updated within the last few days though, in which case the issue should be resolved for you already (without the need to update anything in AUR)
You aren't on the most recent update of the Minecraft Launcher. Does updating it solve the problem?
