The curse of vanishing doesn't work in some places where one would expect them to work.
Affects:
horse armor
horse saddle
llama carpet
containers containing the item getting broken
donkeys/mules/llama having the item in the inventory

This is *not* fixed (entirely?) in 19w37a. Shulker boxes containing the item still contain the item after death. Also, ender chests, but I'm not sure if they're even meant to be affected by Curse of vanishing.
