Minecraft music plays in overlap

When i'm playing Minecraft, after I quit a world and go back into it (or any other world) without completely closing the game, eventually, I will hear 2 different Minecraft soundtracks playing simultaneously. When I go to the pause menu, one track stops but the other keeps going. When I go back into the game though, I still hear 2 tracks. So I go into music and sounds and turn off music then the track that stopped when I went to the pause menu would stop, but then eventually a third track would come into the mix. When I saved and quit to title, it would stop one of the tracks but one would keep going. It really irritates me, especially when I use MCedit because I can't load the world in minecraft and MCedit at the same time. Please fix!
