I turned the launcher on like usual and the normal launcher page did not show up. Instead there was a blank white screen and it said play offline. I selected my world and when I clicked on it to play the game crashed, closed and went back to launcher.
What I expected to happen was...:
After clicking my world I expected it to load and for me to be able to play the game like usual.
What actually happened was...:
After clicking my world I expected it to load, its said generating world.... loading chunks... and then the game shut off and went back to the launcher screen when the crash report appeared. Also when I opened the launcher to play the game in the first place the lancher screen was white and it said play offline. Even though I was connected to the internet perfecty fine and browsing the web at the same time.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open launcher, click play offline.
2. click on a world, double click to load it as usual.
3. Wait... And then the game crashes, the window closes and it takes you back to the launcher.

Sorry I though I did. Done now 🙂

Looks like a duplicate of MC-34749

Thanks Marcono. I have looked at the issue you have linked and I have niether Avast, MCAfee nor Outpost Security installed on my computer or amongst any of my programs on my programs list in the control panel. The closest thing I have is AVG, which I have had installed since I first got my computer, I have been playing Minecraft perfectly fine every day. But this issue randomly started occuring yesterday just out of the blue. I have tried reopening it several times since, rebooting my whole computer and allowing it through firewall, all several times and the problem is still occurring.
I dont think I have installed anything too drastic or changed anything major on my computer recently that I can think off. Also I have uninstalled and reinstalled the minecraft launcher reset my minecraft password and everything and now I cant log into the new launcher. When I try to log in it shows the following message:
Sorry but we couldnt connect to our servers. Please make sure that you are online and that Miinecraft is not blocked (Socket exception: Unrecognized Windows sockets error: 10106: create)
Any ideas? This issue is still not resolved!
All help appreciatted!
Many thanks.
May the Ender Gods be with me!
P.S: Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is working fine! So I am very confused as to why this keeps happening.
Have you tried to deactivate AVG, at least for a short period of time? If Minecraft is able to start when AVG is deactivated, AVG, or a recent AVG update, causes this issue as well.

Good suggestion violine1101. I just tried it. I completely uninstalled avg and all of its components. I restarted my computer and then tried it again and the same problems still appears. I even just tried downloading the new Minecraft launcher that Dinnerbone released for testing in the hope that that might work. With the new launcher I managed to log in! But when getting to the stage of generating a world the game once again crashed and went back to the launcher. This time with this message:
The game crashed whilst updating screen events
The game crashed whilst updating screen events
Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop.
I have icluded a screenshot of ALL programs that are currently installed on my computer and even the exact dates I installed them. Any ideas anyone?
