Minecraft Keeps Crashing

So I wanted to play Minecraft with my brother this morning when I click on Minecraft the new launcher popped up. I was surprised and so was my brother because he didn't have the new launcher. I shrugged it off and logged in. The login was fine no crashing, but as soon as a tried to join a server it would pause at "Loading Chunks" then crash. I tried a different version 4 times still crashed. I tried my own worlds and nothing worked. If you can help me with this that would be great!
