Latest Launcher issues - offline and profile errors.

Hi, just updated my minecraft launcher as i had an error e.t.c basically reinstalled multiple programs including minecraft. Latest launcher looks great, but cannot use any other profiles except the "latest version" one. I did try to install forge after, that version says "the version you are trying to play inherits properties from an unknown version" it is the correct version for minecraft 1.11.2. The other profiles, created one for 1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.5, 1.9 & 1.10 but all return saying "Failed to download file af_ZA.lang" so cannot use the game as intended. Launcher also frequently says offline but is connected, left a few minutes it returns to 'online'
