Minecraft won't launch. Error message - could not locate openAL library

I dowloaded Minecraft a few days ago and when i open the launcher and press play i get a black screen. I opened a bug report MC-113883 and after updating the Nvidia driver i was able to play minecraft. I downloaded forge and some mods and the game crashed. I have since delted the mods and have been trying to use minecraft without forge but i have the same problem of getting a black screen when i press play.
