Non functioning crafting book and advancments

I updated my local client and the server to the newest version now when I joined the world which was created in 17w06a, I couldn't craft anything. the new crafting book icon was "grayed out" opening showed nothing. next to that the advancements tab was broken. the server log said:

Which hints at the fact it doesn't load any advancements.

When creating a new world (single player) the recipe book works fine as well as the advancements.
