Transparency Of Arrows Doesn’t Work Correctly

The bug

I replaced the arrow texture with a partially transparent texture. In Minecraft, the partially transparent parts of the texture are replaced with completely opaque pixels, sometimes the arrow is transparent and works as expected (but this only happens on multiplayer - I've tested it on spigot)

How to reproduce

  1. Put on attached resource pack

  2. Go in to survival, shoot yourself with an arrow

  3. Hold the bow, and arrows are opaque

  4. Do not hold any item, and arrows are transparent

  5. Arrows on the ground and in the air are not transparent either

Can you please attach a test resource pack to make reproduction easier?

Can you test if this is related to items with a glint (in this case the book in your hotbar) or possibly the transparent head layer of your skin (if I am seeing this correctly).

I tested it some more and it seems so be only related to whether or not I am holding an item (any item) in my hand. When I am holding an item, arrows become opaque. I have also attached the resource pack for reproducing the bug.

Confirmed for 1.13.1.

Transferred ownership to @unknown due to user request.

Resolving as Cannot Reproduce as the describe behavior can no longer be reproduced in 22w03a: arrows are now always rendered opaque, no matter whether the player is holding an item or not.
