When I played this I heard about the recipe book in the latest snapshot and when I checked my crafting table it did not show up later I discovered the icon was invisible and I could not see it. So I need to find out why this happened

Looks like your resource pack isn't updated for this version. Disable it and see if the issue still occurs.
Are you using a resource pack?
