I know this may be duplicate but several searches did not turn up anything close, couldn't find right search terms.
Testing for another bug, I opened new test worlds in 1.94 and up New launcher and I aren't friends and I could not figure out how to do it in a separate profile than my current establish SSP world. I carefully never opened that world and deleted each test world as I progressed thru the versions. Once done I went to play my world and the new player info was repeated. My understanding is that once you have done that it is stored in your profile never to be repeated across new worlds. It did NOT reset my advancements already earned. Not a big deal to me as it takes less than 5 minutes to clear, but I do not want to do it every time I test for something in an older version.

I did not downgrade a world - that presents problems I never want to encounter. I opened a new world in each version, deleted it and then created a new world in the next version. Now tell me how I am supposed in the new launcher open a previous version; simple examples are - I want to play on a server that has not upgraded to 1.12, a map that is not supported in 1.12, or use a mod that isn't supported in 1.12? I looked at the other launch options - none of those allow me to change versions, only the launch option under my minecraft user name does.
Downgrading is not supported.
