Enderpearl through nether portal

I was in the Nether and I stood next to the portal. I trew an ender pearl and I appeared in a random location in the Nether, inside a block.
I killed myself using /kill, went back to the nether and tried it again, and the game crashed.
Time stopped, redstone didn't work, portals didn't break. I tried re-logging and I only saw red (because I used night-vision effect), but couldn't move and couldn't see any blocks.
I couldn't even quit using Save and Quit to Title.
(I was on top of the nether, and the portal was placed inside the bedrock, so the top of the portal was above bedrock.)
