The bug
Minecarts that run next to each other will occasionally push each other, especially on corners. This means that farms with hopper minecart collection systems can be broken when the minecarts stop each other when they pass each other on a corner, or sometimes on a straight section of track.
How to reproduce
Make a square out of rails, then another square on the inside of that so that both sets of rails are touching each other around the whole square. Put plenty of booster rails along the tracks to keep the minecarts running.
Run minecarts along both rails in opposite directions.
Just wait for the minecarts to stop when they pass each other.

I found an easier setup to reproduce this. When pressing the buttons, one Minecart is stopped by another minecart when they meet each other for the second time. This is the case in Minecraft 1.12.2, Java 8 Update 161 (although I don't think the Java version affects this), running Windows 10.

UPDATE: This is still the case in 18w14b.

Is this still a issue in the latest version of the game(currently 1.13.1)?
If so, please add it to the affected versions, thanks!
Can confirm in 1.20.1:
[media]I've also attached a structure file to easily replicate this;
(Note: if it is not reliably reproducable, try breaking and replacing the minecarts)
Fixed with the experimental minecarts from 24w33a+. Collision is much more precise, and minecarts stay on their own rails much better.

Is this still an issue in the most recent versions (currently that is 1.12.2, or the latest 1.13 development snapshot 18w07c) of Minecraft?
