Running Minecraft with the latest HighSierra beta, the Minecraft menu is empty and thus Command-Q does not work to quit the app.

This may be relevant. Eclipse had a different menu problem which was traced to missing DefaultApp.nib in the java resources. I know Minecraft comes with it's own runtime but there may be a clue here.

Likely to be an issue with the beta; I'm not seeing this on the stable release of High Sierra. We'll have to see if the problem gets fixed on the next beta or release.

It is either a MacOS bug or it's not but this is your chance to determine that and report the bug (if there is one) before the next release comes out. If you determine it's a bug after the release, you'll be forced to deal with it.

This issue is also in IntelliJ IDEA

Updated the environment to the correct macOS version. Also, this issue doesn't effect the new snapshot 17w43a, but will likely come back when they fix the icon not being the grass block.

This issue has been resolved by a macOS update
