Sometimes, after respawning, frames start to stutter a lot. On the F3 pie chart, under root.gameRenderer, the "level" portion quickly takes majority.
Pressing F3+A to reload chunks solves this frame stutter, but I find it rather immersion-breaking to have to press F3 and A upon respawn. Also, those without the knowledge of this workaroudn may find this buy frustrating to deal with.

It seems like it has something to do with RedrawNear taking up a lot of the rendering power for whatever reason.

Still an issue in 18w20a

Affects 18w20b, I think it lags because it reloads chunks upon respawn.

Affects 1.13 pre1

I have had it affect 1.13 full release, and as such it is incredibly annoying.Β If the fix has been found, please tell me it'll be in 1.13.1 soon.

Is this related to or duplicates MC-131077?

This will not be forward resolved to something reported six months later unless there is much more information (which there isn't).

Confirmed for 1.13.2-pre2. If the player waits long enough, the lag will settle out on its own, without the need forΒ F3 + A
.

This issue affects 1.14.4.

Please check if that's still an issue for you in the latest 1.15.2 stable release.
