The issue
I tried playing on the new snapshot for the first time, but immediately got a crash. There was nothing out of the ordinary. The crash report said this:
cjr: Unable to fit: minecraft:blocks/lava_flow - size: 32x32 - Maybe try a lowerresolution resourcepack?
I tried equipping all resource pack except vanilla in the options.txt file, that didn't have any effect. I checked the default resource pack, and the lava_flow.png file has a size of 32x512px. I have never had this problem before, and I can't figure out the problem.

I don't think that's it, because I don't have any resource packs enabled, and I don't believe my graphics card is out of date.

Try updating it regardless.

Updated my drives and it worked. No clue why it stopped working, but I guess that's just the nature of computers. Thanks for the help.
