Displaying of items in item frames is bugged.
When placing an item in the frame, item should be visible. As of 1.5.1 update, blocks (3D rendered objects) display in frames; coal, redstone dust, etc (2D rendered objects) are hidden.
In testing this, I placed an item from on a glass block and placed a 2D item in the frame. The item is hidden in front, but shows on the back of frame. 3D objects appear on both sides of the frame.

No need to be snippy, Tails. I'm sure you'll notice that I retracted my comment right after posting after realizing what you'd seen. I have also checked the error on an unmodded client and found that you were right. Sorry to have bothered you with such a trivial matter. Go back to being busy elsewhere.
This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.
Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the plugin creator.
