Item frames not showing framed item on Fancy graphics

When graphics is set to Fancy, framed items do not show. Specifically, compass and clock. Trying to narrow down the cause using Optifine to fine tune graphics, I found out the problem is present only when the 3D dropped items are enabled. When changed to Fast (2D) dropped items, the framed item shows the 2D image correctly.
