The swimming animation is similar to the elytra animation. You can go through 1 high holes when the hole has an extended floor.

One addition to this bug: When you swim in a 1x1 tunnel with glass above and you press space at some point (so you swim upwards), the player will stand up although a block is still above him. Afterwards you can just walk through for example the glass (non-solid blocks).
