Discord is properly the bug
I think I might found the solution. When I opened Minecraft without Discord, the game doesn't crash, when I use Discord and open Mincraft it does crash.
The game crashes after loading because the Realms module is missing.
I don't select the Realms section or anything like that, just the main menu freezes after like 1 second.

But I can't even play single player or multi player, the game crashes (more likely freeze and than crash).

I'm having the exact same issue, but it's affecting all my versions, not just snapshots. This goes back a good bit even, I tried running 1.8 and it gave me the same exact pseudo crash.
Realms does not work in snapshots, see MC-121287
