[MC-126042] Pistons act strange when pushing kelp

I was working on a semi-automatic kelp farm, so I tried using pistons. It did not work.

Instead of breaking the block next to the piston, everything breaks. However, sometimes a few blocks of kelp "survive". I find this very annoying and strange. I can't think of any other ways to make a kelp farm, either.

It seems to work in the new one I built. Maybe it was fixed in 18w08b? I'm not sure, but I'll add an image of the other one.

edit : The old one still doesn't work. It might have something to do with a missing water source block, but I'm still not sure.

That'll be it, with the piston on top of it the kelp can't survive.
