[MC-12643] Redstone wire running through a piston doesn't extend it!

What I expected to happen:
I expected the piston to extend.

What actually happened:
The piston remained unextended.

How to recreate:
Build the device shown in the screenshot and flip the lever.

This is true with sticky pistons as well.

The Redstone isn’t connected to the piston, therefore it does not extract.

The piston is a transparent block and therefore the redstone wire isn't cut off. Repeat that setup with any non-transparent block, then that block will be powered, but the restone is cut off.
