some of the blocks of my 'sieve' type mob farm have sort of disappeared but cannot be replaced

I have a 'sieve' type mob farm that has facing rows of pistons that alternate pushing floors one way and then aonther to allow mobs to fall through. I noticed it wasn't operating properly - and went up inside -to find many of the floor and piton blocks had become completely transparent, and mobs fell through the spaces as though they weren't there BUT I could not replace the missing blocks as the spaces acted as though they were still occupied - and faint outlines are still in place -like when a tripwire is present... Trying to remove the transparent blocks with a pickaxe produced appropriate coloured particales, but the missing block would not break. I was running rei's minimap and a recent installation of optifine to try and improve framerates -had really bad problems with frame rate crashes in some locations -so I re-installed an older save and removed mods. Problems persists though, -with fewer of the 'missing blocks' but still a problem... Frame rates creashing also a problem. Is this a bug, or chunk/ world corruption, or a combination of things?

Some of your mods may have zapped your world.

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.

  • Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.

  • Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the plugin creator.

  • This site is for addressing issues related to the base unmodded MineCraft.

What does invalid mean? (in this context)

Thank you

Sorry friend – not running any mods now – same problems occurring

Not a bug report that Mojang should be concerned with.

Invald means that this ticket is not a valid bug submission,

Involving any mod invalidates automatically any tickets.

Recreate the issue with vanilla minecraft, then the ticket may be reopened.

Thank you.

By recreate… How can I differentiate between this and the previous problem persisting?

These blocks are effected –I have not used any mods since 1.5.1 update… and prior to that, only a MAPPING TOOL ,,,

I’m not really a modder…. Vanilla is fine by me J

Make a new vanilla world to test. If it happens without any mods to begin with, it's a Minecraft problem.

No – I agree with you there – if this is strictly a mods interaction problem – no question

but the forum is the only place for me to try and understand if
1) my problem is unique , or common
2) is related to the mods I might have used –or be completely unrelated to mods.

I usually use Rei’s miniimap ONLY – I do not use the game effecting mods.

In desperation over the 1.5 running so damn slow – I tried running optifine …didn’t really help so I stopped using it.

I haven’t used ANY mods since 1.5.1 –and I’m finding these goofy ‘missing’ block that are totally fracking up my structures –

AND the smoking gun seems to be Mojang’s intro of 1.5

…NOT reis –which I’ve used for a year…

Makes sense – or am I off base?

Thanks Kumasasa – I appreciate your taking the time to read my rant.

It may be a combination of both. And just because you're not running mods anymore doesn't mean it isn't a vanilla problem.

If a block is moving when a aplayer logs out it will become a ghost block. I can confirm.
