Continue gliding after going through the end portal in the end

When going through the end portal in the end the elytra in the overworld keeps gliding making the player walk horizontally and jumping weird heights up to 3 blocks in fact
What I expected to happen was...:
that the player would just stand next to the bed after going trough the portal

the player should stand next to the bed as normal
What actually happened was...:
the player walks horizontally and has the elytra in a permanent state until relogging
