[MC-12947] Trying to enter in servers crash the game

i was looking for survivor servers, and, when i tried to enter in enter in the "mc-smp.com" the game crashed... i just ignored that, and tried again, i got another crash. i tried to enter in another server (i don't remember the ip), and guess what. my game crashed again. No mods, just the vanilla minecraft. sorry, i'm from brazil and my english is not so good...

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.

Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the plugin creator.
This site is for addressing issues related to the base unmodded MineCraft.

i deleted meta-inf because i will install a mod, but i changed my mind, it's vanilla minecraft. just without meta-inf

Doing anything with the jar is called modifying it. If you can prove that this crash happens without modifying the jar this can be reopened.

yes, i forced minecraft to update, and this stop occuring, but, can you please tell me why this happened? it's just because i deleted meta-inf?
