Strength doesn't affect projectiles

The bug

When you throw a Trident with strength on, it does not apply the strength bonus.

How to reproduce

  1. Run

    /effect give @s minecraft:strength 10000 255 false
  2. Spawn a wither

  3. Throw the trident at it, and see that it does not one-shot it

  4. Punch the Wither with nothing on your hand to see that you should one-shot it

Can Confirm, though I think it's intended because the thrown trident is a projectile, like an arrow. For example, arrow strength is only affected by arrow velocity and the "power" enchant on the bow, but the strength buff will not affect arrow damage.

@gaspoweredpick:

I think logically, if you throw something forcefully, it hit harder, so this is a bug.

While arrows are shoot by the bow, you can't just forcefully pull the bow and expect stronger arrows.

Another inconsistency: sharpness/smite/bane of arthropods affects thrown tridents, but interestingly, sharpness tridents don't do any extra damage to enderdragons

Confirmed for 1.13.1.

I wish it would because you "throw" the trident using strength aka your arm and in my opinion should deal extra damage.
