Lava source blocks show a downwards flowing texture on the sides when viewed through glass

The bug

When a completely stationary block of lava is viewed through glass, the sides of the texture will appear to be flowing downwards. This does not make much sense, as the block is not at all flowing.

This is also a parity issue, as a still texture is correctly shown in Bedrock Edition.

Note

This is not a duplicate of MC-91333 as it deals with the blocks being viewed from beneath lava, which is slightly different.

It's quite obviously different, as was detailed in the bug report.

Actually, they're kind of similar
Your bug details how lava looks on the lava-transparent block border from the transparent block side while theirs details how it looks from the lava side, so it's the same thing

Similar does not mean identical.

I still don't believe this is a duplicate as the former ticket requires being under lava to see, whereas this ticket involves observing it outside of lava. Reopen
