Render Distance Graphical Glitch

when i was in the settings, i had the render distance set at 22, then i pressed "reset video settings" and set it back to 8, nothing wrong so far, when i turned it back up to 22 or any number other than 8, this glitch happens as you can see from the pictures and then its back to normal when i turn it back to 8.
I use windows 7 with latest java.
