This also happened in pre7. Earlier versions right up to pre6 were OK
I suspect it is the same issue as MC-133492
In Pre7, it had an extra line in the latest.log which indicated ;
[Client thread/WARN]: Couldn't find glyph for character ? (\ua7b0)
This has been fixed for pre8 but the crash still continues.
My latest.log show this;
[13:51:20] [Client thread/INFO]: Setting user: Stubkan
[13:51:22] [Client thread/WARN]: Skipping bad option: lastServer:
[13:51:22] [Client thread/INFO]: LWJGL Version: 3.1.6 build 14

There is no crash log, but this generates a 'hs_err_PID.log' in .minecraft

It's not a duplicate.
I can play the game just fine with no glitches, it is only when I try to open the language selection screen (from main menu, or within a loaded world) that it immediately hard crashes.
