Powered Piston and Soul Sand Bubble Columns Significantly Reduces FPS

When you have powered pistons (facing east) touching 2 or more soul sand bubble columns will tank the fps. More noticeable with higher columns, eg 1-10 fps with 6 high columns.

Seems to be directional as testing powered pistons facing other directions the issue did not exist. Bubble columns from magma blocks did not exhibit issue no matter the direction of pistons.

Please check if that's still an issue in 1.13.1.

Yes issue still persists in 1.13.1 although slight improvement from the snapshots. Takes a slightly higher column, 11 high in my case, to get the frames to go all the way down to around 1-10.

Still is directional, only occurring when facing east.

Isn't an issue if particles are set to minimal, or when using any other block other than a powered piston

Please check if that's still an issue for you in 1.15-pre6 or later. The changes made to the render code might have improved this situation for you.

It indeed has improved, only being halved now from ~122fps to ~60fps, so quite more playable than before.
