java.lang.NullPointerException: Unexpected error

Had been originally experiencing Java crashes just from trying to load the game in the first place. Attempted every fix in the book before finally getting to run the game, only to crash when logging onto Minecraft Realms.
Please advise.
Edit: Also happens in just opening a world, period.
