unexpected error Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Unexpected error

So recently I bought Minecraft and before I came across this issue I couldn't Launch the program now I can launch the program and get to the multiplayer screen to pick a server However regardless which server I click I get this error and Im curious Any recommendations how to fix it ?  Thank you in advance
