It started with a player on my server getting kicked out every time he went through a nether portal. Then, yesterday, the server started crashing whenever he went through the portal. Now, it crashes when he signs on.
Â
I have posted this already, but it was dismissed as a "get a better computer" problem.
1) That's BS; it was playing just fine with 3 players before this issue arose.
2) I've increased my RAM to 32 GB (and increased the server starting RAM to 2GB) just to prove that that's not the problem, and it's still happening.
3) It only happens for this one player.Â
4) I realized that the watchdog was shutting it down due to it effectively freezing, but I was quite certain based on the things listed above that it wasn't just a computer resources issue.
5) If you look closely at the crash reports, you see stuff about locks in all of the worker threads. I think there's a deadlock happening.

Please don't duplicate your tickets. Did you set max-tick-time
in server.properties
to a value higher than _60000_
or to _-1_
?
Well, if the ticket had some way for me to open it again, I wouldn't have remade it. It's BS that you guys just keep marking it as dealt with when it's clearly not.
I'll try to double to max tick time, but it's ridiculous that that would help. If my computer can't deal with it within a minute, then most people's can't. Especially since the guy is kicked off the server well before the server ends up crashing.
Have you looked into the potential of deadlock?
If you felt like your ticket was closed incorrectly, either comment on that ticket or create a post on Reddit. Please keep in mind this is a bug tracker, not a place for server help.
The reason why your server is shutting down is because a single tick exceed the max-tick-time
value and this is not a bug. If you need more information see this comment.
I know why it eventually shuts down. Clearly that's not the bug. The bug is the thing CAUSING it to take more than 60 seconds for a tick.
I'm not asking for server help. I'm trying to point out that there's a bug that seems like it's causing a deadlock.
Does this stop when you teleport the player out of the chunk like MC-137097?
Teleporting him "helped", but then it corrupted the chunk he teleported to. The chunk was luckily fairly low in player changes, but it was still a hassle. And now we're getting an IndexOutOfBoundsException every time it tries to save the world.
Do you still have issues if you update to 1.13.2? If so, you should probably create a new ticket with the IndexOutOfBoundsException error or crash.
Thank you for your report!
