To reproduce:
/kill @s (or set your spawnpoint there)
/summon illager_beast
/kill @s
After respawning, the beast and its hitbox may be invisible, but its sound still can be heard. And you can shoot it. It can also attack entities.
/kill @s
After respawning, you can see it again.
