[MC-14011] Poor FPS

After downloading the new launcher, my FPS in my test world dropped from about 60 to 20 and in a new world, it never rose above 11. Until this is fixed, any new worlds I generate are unplayable.

I have a very similar problem; my laptop has an i5 and nVidia GT 525M, and plays at 100+ fps in 1.5.1, with a 128x texture pack. In the snapshot, I'm playing on default tp, and getting rarely above 10fps.

To answer the question about if I use a HD texture pack, I do not. I use the default texture pack.
