game freezes on mojang logo, before crashing and reverting to launcher.

While im launching the game its self. It freezes on the mojang logo for about a minute or so. Then reverts to the launcher telling me "Unable to fit: minecraft:block/lava_flow - size: 32x32 - Maybe try a lowerresolution resourcepack?"

I've uninstalled and re-installed the game 3 times, through; the installation wizard, manually deleting files in separate locations, and using the "repair" method on the wizard.  I Cannot come to another conclusion other than a bug. i've tried everything i could think of. I dont even have a texture pack installed!

I've also searched and found related "Bug" on this site, but no solution? The link for the related ticket is below. Just the same crash log i got, and a resolved tag on it. I however could not find the way it was resolved
